To celebrate the 10th anniversary of The Edge Café on the Brookfields site, Ian Rawlinson presents ABRASIONS, his 10th solo exhibition at the café. After spending the last 14 years working on imagery inspired by places and memories from his past in Cambridge, his work is now evolving in different and as yet, unknown directions. To conclude this period of work, Rawlinson will be exhibiting prints from two recent series, 'Mere' and 'Butterfly'. The inspiration for this work comes from his writing, which explores connections between different areas of his East Anglian past. The process of making then fragments and distorts the imagery, revealing an abstracted sense of place.
