About the Gin Lab

Tucked away on Green Street, in a grade II listed building, the Cambridge Gin Laboratory is a place to taste, mix and blend your own gin. It is part classroom, part shop and part tasting lounge, with private hire options for celebrations and events.

The Gin Lab was opened by William and Lucy Lowe, founders of the award-winning Cambridge Distillery. For ten years running, it has been TripAdvisor’s number one thing to do in Cambridge.

Our classes

Classes run every day of the week, led by our expert Gin Lab team and can be booked online.

Make It. Discover the world of distillation and botanicals, then blend your own bespoke gin to take home.
Mix It. Stir, shake and smash your way through three cocktails made with our award-winning gins, and learn the art of mixology.
The History and Mystery of Gin. Sip and taste your way through the fascinating, and sometimes gruesome, story of the nation’s favourite spirit.
Molecular Cocktail Evening. An immersive cocktail class using the equipment and techniques of molecular gastronomy.
Gin and Cheese. An evening of exceptional gins and artisan cheeses, paired and explained by our experts.
Seasonal classes. Special events throughout the year, including our Halloween and Christmas programme.

Private hire

The Gin Lab can host up to 50 guests. Whether it’s a hen or stag do, a milestone birthday, a graduation or a corporate event, guests can craft their own gin, enjoy cocktails and share an experience they won’t forget. Enquire about private hire.

The shop

Our shop is open daily and stocks the full award-winning Cambridge Distillery range, including 10 Green Street Gin, made exclusively for the Gin Laboratory and available nowhere else.
