Camsail – December meeting

Camsail's member evening. A chance to share sailing stories, experiences of the last season and enjoy a mince pie and some mulled wine together. Interested future members also welcome.

  • 9th December 2026 - 9th December 2026
  • 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

CAMSAIL is a sailing club which meets monthly from October to March to enjoy a wide range of
talks by members and invited speakers, and an opportunity to socialise in a nautical
atmosphere (albeit in central Cambridge!). There is an annual subscription (at present £20, to cover the cost of the venue and speakers’ expenses), but those new to us are welcome to attend one meeting without charge or any commitment to join.

In the December meeting we will hear from Camsail club members about their own recent sailing experiences. We also host the Club’s AGM and elect new members (very briefly) before enjoying mince pies, mulled wine and a chance to share sailing experiences, to hear about trips since the last season, and to get to know other members.

We meet at 19.30 for a 19.45 start. The bar is open in advance of the talk for general socialising.

The city’s name is known around the world, but it wasn’t always called Cambridge. In the Middle Ages it was known as Grantabridge, meaning the bridge over the river Granta (one of the sources of the River Cam).
